MOX Announces New Telescent Automation Technology on its Latest Hillsboro to Portland Fiber Route

– MOX will offer cutting edge automation of the physical fiber connectivity via Telescent

– MOX will deploy the Telescent Network Topology Manager to remotely automate their customer’s fiber connectivity between data center locations

El Segundo, CA – MOX Networks, LLC (“MOX”), a leading fiber-optic network specialist, announced today that it has partnered with Telescent, Inc, an innovator of physical Software-Defined Networking (SDN) at the fiber optic physical layer, to bring fiber layer automation to MOX’s new Hillsboro to Portland fiber route. Telescent’s Gen 4 Network Topology Manager (G4 NTM), a remotely controlled reconfigurable fiber optic patch-panel and cross-connect, will implement physical layer automation and virtualization for MOX customers. With their patented robotic technology in place, fiber optic connections between network devices can be provisioned, tested, and delivered without a technician dispatch (near real time) for customers at each end of MOX’s new Pacific Northwest fiber route. The G4 NTM allows MOX to reduce the service delivery interval, support customers in real time, and locate cable faults automatically should they arise.

Available as early as Q4 2020, MOX looks forward to extending this leading-edge provisioning, testing, and troubleshooting technology to its customers in the Pacific Northwest. By leveraging Telescent’s state-of-the-art robotic cross connect, MOX will bring new automation to customers as part of its continued commitment to deliver the finest quality products, services, and customer experience.

“Telescent is providing MOX with NEBS Level 3 certified, high-port-count dynamic fiber cross connects with diagnostic capability to monitor and automate fiber connectivity in real time. We are pleased to add MOX to our growing portfolio of sophisticated and forward-thinking network operators that recognize and embrace new technology that improves the customer experience,” states Anthony Kewitsch, CEO, Telescent.

“MOX is on a constant quest to offer the finest fiber optic network services along unique connectivity paths in North America and Japan. As we evaluate, invest, and build new fiber routes, it makes sense to partner with innovative companies in order to maximize the performance and service along our network. Bringing Telescent’s NTM to the MOX networks demonstrates our continued commitment to creating a positive customer experience through product and service innovation, while maintaining the highest level of customer service,” adds Justin Melnikoff, President & COO, MOX.

Founded in 2013 and privately owned by Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong, the founder of NantWorks, a network of health and technology companies, MOX was created to build the network that would “converge ultra-low power semiconductor technology, supercomputing, secure advanced networks, and augmented intelligence to transform how we work, play, and live.” Under Melnikoff’s leadership, MOX has built and delivered unique, high capacity network infrastructure across North America and Japan.
